Recent reports indicate that criminals are increasingly targeting bank customers through sophisticated scams, phishing messages, fake phone calls, WhatsApp messages, and social engineering, convincing victims to authorise payments themselves rather than hacking bank systems. As guides often travel, work in busy public places, and rely on mobile banking while on tour, it is especially important to verify every payment request, never share one-time PINs or banking passwords, and be cautious of any message or call creating a sense of urgency. Take a few extra moments to confirm transactions—it could prevent significant financial loss.
