Dear Members,
As 2025 draws to a close, the IPTGSA Committee sends you warm greetings and hopes that this has been a productive and fulfilling year for you. With the festive season upon us, we would like to take a moment to reflect on our collective achievements and share important updates for the year ahead.
A Year of Growth and Achievement for IPTGSA
This year has been a significant milestone in the journey of the Institute. We are proud to highlight the following accomplishments:
- Successful submission of our SAQA Professional Body application, a major step toward achieving formal recognition.
- Approval to run the Umbrella Guide Pilot Project, advancing our commitment to professionalising tourist guiding and strengthening opportunities for local guides.
- Confirmation of our SAQA site inspection, scheduled for January 2026, a strong indication that we are now in the final stretch toward full professional body registration.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all members who participated in our educationals, contributed ideas, and stayed engaged throughout the year. Your involvement strengthens the Institute and drives our shared mission forward.
Membership Updates & Renewals
Please take note that the IPTGSA membership year ends on 28 February 2026. Membership fees for the 2026 cycle are due in February, and reminders will be circulated.
As we prepare for final SAQA recognition, it is essential that your membership information is accurate and up to date.
- Your username is your full name as reflected on the Members List on our website.
- If needed, please request a new password — you will receive a one-time link to reset it and to update any missing information.
Members who do not update their details or renew their fees by the end of February will unfortunately be removed from the membership database. Until now, the Committee has been lenient due to the ongoing SAQA process, but as we enter the finalisation phase, membership compliance becomes critical.
CPD Points Coming Soon
Once our professional body registration is confirmed, CPD points will be fully activated. We encourage all members to continue joining our educational activities to stay informed, connected, and ready for the new system.
For any assistance with your account or membership, please email us at [email protected] — we are here to help.
Please inform the IPTGSA team if you do not want to be a memberÂ
Thank you once again for your continued support and commitment to raising the standards of tourist guiding in South Africa. We wish you a rejuvenating festive season and look forward to an exciting 2026 together.
