On the 23 October Johan attended a meeting and educational hosted by the Tourism Association of the Sunshine Coast (TASC) in Port Elisabeth .First a visit to the non profit Mohair of SA organisation took place where the story of mohair in SA was given .Did you know that more than 90% of the world's mohair passes through PE.
The group then moved to a conference venue where IPTGSA and the roadshow was the main speaker , Attended by about 20 people the presentation went well and interesting questions were asked .All acknowledged the the career path for tourist guides and what the IPTGSA proposes was in the correct direction .
Mr. Mbulelo Siyo the Tourist Guide registrar of the Eastern Cape spoke about illegal guiding and the process guides need to follow to report it .Mr. Mbulelo Siyo said he could do nothing without evidence and he cannot proceed on hearsay .Guides were urged to report it to him with proof , eg photo
It was a great positive to have presented IPTGSA in PE
